Today we went to lunch with my friend Kathy and her daughter Grace. We went to Olive Garden, and then we went shopping! Jada got a new toy and a Dr. Seuss book. I got 2 pair of jeans (which I will probably return)…nothing seems to fit right anymore!

Grace is 2 months older than Jada, and the two are the same size! Grace is rolling all over the place, and Jada pretty much stays in one place…it won’t be long though and Jada will be all over too. I will be watching Grace when Kathy goes back to work. I think the girls will have lots of fun together.

After the joys of flooding in our basement, we are finally up and running again. Helitech finished the tiling system a couple of weeks ago. We tried putting the old carpet back down, but it had shrunk and could not be stretched without tearing. So, we had to get new carpet. It was put down on Tuesday. We decided to go with a darker Berber carpet this time. It won’t show stains as easily as the cream colored carpet we had before. Hopefully we won’t have to replace this carpet for many years!

Jada rolled over for the first time at 6 weeks. Now she is rolling over all the time! She only rolls from her belly to her back, but I am sure it won’t take her long to go the other way.

Last weekend we went to Grammy and Poppy’s house. We went shopping on Saturday and Jada had a good time. Grammy is teaching Jada the fine art of shopping! I think that is a Minton trait!

I have decided to try Jada on rice cereal. The first time we tried it, she cried. After the initial trial, she did much better. She only takes about 5 or 6 spoonfuls…and most of that comes back out…but it is a start. Here is a lovely picture of Miss Jada dining.

Jada Dining

We went to Kentucky to visit my family for the 4th of July. Jada did really well on the 6 hour trip.

Grandma was very excited to see Little Miss. She showed Jada the fish in the pond, and she taught her a little about flowers.

Uncle Josh put on a fireworks display. Jada loved the pretty colors, but got scared with the noises. Daddy took her inside and they watched the fireworks from the window.

Jada was happy to see Uncle David and Aunt Stacey. She can’t wait for her new cousin to arrive in March. I can’t wait to see how David handles being a dad. His eyes got REALLY big when Jada started crying and he couldn’t get her to stop!

It was a good trip. Jada did really well while we were there. Daddy wasn’t too bad either!

Today I am getting things together for our trip to Kentucky. We are going to visit my mom and brothers. Mom hasn’t seen Jada since she was a week old. She has been very excited about our visit! Josh hasn’t met Jada yet. I am sure he will be very happy to see her. He was thrilled to become Uncle Josh!

We are leaving on the 4th, so hopefully traffic won’t be too bad. We will be coming home Sunday. I am sure we will have pictures to post.

I will make sure to get a picture of Jada in her 4th of July outfit that Meme (Aunt Pam) sent her.

Have a fun and safe 4th of July!
