For Halloween Jada was a Bumblebee. She went to Daddy’s office to Trick-or-Treat.
She even got to be Corporate Jada.

Archive for October, 2002My Grandma Boien, Aunt DeDe, and cousing Jennifer came to visit this afternoon. They were amazed at all the things Jada can do. They really liked her growling!
Grandma brought her photo albums that had pictures of me as a little one. I could definitely see Jada in some of them.
It was a nice visit. I wish I could see them more often.
Jennifer is going to be moving away from the area, so I won’t see her for a long time.
Jada was standing up at the french doors this morning and fell down onto the hinge. She busted her lip open and was bleeding all over the place. Jackie and I were a nervous wreck. After we calmed her (and Jada haha) down we ended up taking her into the emergency room. Jada ended up getting three stitches.

I think it was harder for Mommy and Daddy than it was for Jada. For the first time, I wished she was a boy. If she was a boy, I would have figured “aw, he’s tough, he’ll be alright.” But since it was my dainty little baby girl, it was a LOT harder to take.
Oh well, the first “major incident” is down now, so hopefully the future ones (assuming I ever let her out of the crib) won’t be so bad.

There isn’t too much going on right now…and that’s okay! It seems like we have been so busy lately. I think this is our last weekend with no plans until December.
Jada is standing without holding on almost all the time. She doesn’t want to be sitting at all. She wants to stand. She has figured out that she can squat to pick up toys…she doesn’t have to sit to get them! She has tried squatting without holding on to anything, but she isn’t real successful yet.
She is such a precious little thing….and so darn cute! Not that I am biased or anything!
Soon it will be time for Billy’s basketball league to start. Last season most of the games were for 7 or 8 PM. I hope they stay that time. The previous season, they had been for 9PM…a little late for Miss Jada.
Jada is going to be a bumble bee for Halloween! I am pretty excited. I am going to take Jada and Grace to Bill’s office to show them off in their costumes….Grace is going to be a pumpkin. I will be sure to post pictures…I am sure they will be quite cute!
Jada had her 6 month check-up today. She weighed in at 18 lbs 8 oz….which is 1 1/2 lbs less than she weighed last Monday. She is 26 3/4 inches long. She hasn’t gotten much bigger since her last visit, but she is in the 90th percentile in both height and weight.
She received 2 shots today, one of which was a flu shot. We have to go back in a month to get the 2nd part of the flu shot. She did very well. She didn’t cry when they gave the shot, but she cried when I held her down to get it!
Dr. Lake said that Jada is VERY advanced for her age. She also said that it isn’t necessarily a good thing because she is too young to have any common sense…(she climbs on things she shouldn’t and lets go of the table and falls, etc.)
Dr. Lake also said that Jada should outgrow the reflux by 1 year of age. Most babies outgrow it by 6 months.
We are going to continue watching her goopy eye (the right one). I can take her to an eye doctor, or we can wait it out a little longer. Hopefully it will clear up on its own.
Jada has been quickly crawling along for weeks. She has also been pulling herself up and standing anywhere she can. Last week she started cruising around the furniture a little bit. So far this week, she has started pulling herself up and letting go! She stands for a few seconds and then plops to the floor! It won’t be long and she will be walking….I will definitely have my hands full then!
My sister-in-law Stacey had her sonogram on Tuesday. She and David are going to have a boy. The baby is due March 8th. I am very excited to become an aunt! Jada and her cousin will be 11 months apart…I am sure she will teach him some bad habits when they are older!
Billy’s mom came to visit this past weekend. We really enjoyed having her here.
On Saturday the girls went shopping! We found a lot of good stuff to decorate our livingroom/dining room area. Nancy and I stayed up until about 2 AM decorating.
Nancy had never been to an Olive Garden before, so we went there for dinner.
It was a very busy weekend, but we enjoyed it.
UT2K3 is out and I’ve been playing online!
It’s been a blast. I haven’t won every game by any means, but I have fared pretty well. Take a look at my current crop of wins. I’ve been trying to take snapshots of the scores at the end of the games…the games I win that is! 
UT2K3 actually keeps your stats on a server on the internet, but so far the game as been so popular that the server is having a hard time keeping up. As of tonight, my scores still aren’t showing up on their server and I’ve been playing online for about 2 or 3 days now. They say the scores will show up eventually, and I’m ready to see how I’m doing!
Update…
My father just passed away, so we were out of town for about a week. Things are going well, the comforting part is that we all know he’s so much better off now. He never really suffered, and we are all thankful for that.
On a happier note, my mother is going to come up to visit for a few days in a couple weeks. Jackie and I are really excited to have her up here. Jackie is ready for some decorating help, I’m ready for some babysitting help and I know mom is ready to come up here and do some shopping!
