The kids have been enjoying the nice weather recently.  They’ve also been enjoying the critters.  In the last couple of weeks or so, they’ve found and played with caterpillars, rabbits, and a frog.  Levi even got to chase Jada around with the frog which was quite amusing.  She wanted to hold it so badly, but just couldn’t force herself to.  She’d chase it around, but when the opportunity arose to grab it, she just couldn’t do it.  Lana simply concluded that frogs were disgusting and ended up not wanting any part of holding it.  At one point, even Mommy got in on the action and chased it around.  That’s on video too for those interested.

An hour or so later, Jada finally worked up the courage to hold it.  At that point, she wanted to keep it, but I talked her into letting it choose between staying and going.  By morning, it had chosen to leave. :)

The kids all got to go trick or treating where Daddy works yesterday, then again after we got home and had a quick supper.  I think they each filled their candy buckets around 3 or 4 times.

We usually only go around the block and end up with more than enough candy, but last night we went with Jill and Steve (Madelyn’s parents) and Chloe and her parents.  We walked probably close to 10 blocks in total, and stayed out until about 7:30.  It was getting dark by then, but they weren’t showing any signs of wanting to quit.  Levi was having a ball just being able to run around everywhere.  There were lots of other families out getting candy too, so traffic through those streets was moving extremely slowly.

I took a few pictures and sent them to Fotki while we were walking around.  You can view them in the cell phone pictures here.

Jada may be doing her first sleepover at Madelyn’s house tonight. It’s 6:40pm and she’s not been here since before Daddy got home from work at 5pm. If she gets homesick, she’s only next door, so she’s no more than a minute from the safety of her house, but it’s a big girl step nonetheless.

Daddy misses his hugs.

I’m curious to see if we’ll see this same crew dancing in the living room in about 10 or 15 years!
